Disapointment – Arthur R. Carli – CA
I am very satisfied with this game, the graphics are Disapointed leave much to be disiaired. I am very surprised Cabela's would put their name on it. It's so fake.
It’s …..O…k… – Mell00 – North Carolina
I like hunting games, outdoor games in general. This game is good for the new landscape but it is quite monotonous and gets boring from then on. Levels 1 and 2 were easily demonstrated by the indicators, where the animals are and by the time I got to the stage with the three hunts, I was bored. The game (animals) were different, but basically all were hunted the same. The most exciting part of the hunting of elephants was running store. The Safarie was short as well, but I did with the first levelSafarie in a few hours. On the good side … the game auto saves, which is a big + + +. Recommendations for the manufacturer … more diversified animal habits, interesting (difficult) landscapes and a longer Safarie hunt. Oh, and a Trophy Room. All in all fun for a short time, were new animals and the landscapes were different than the good O'l USA.
More shooting gallery than hunting sim – Double W – West Virginia
This may have been the game would have played Ernest Hemingway, except that it does not truly grasp the feel of a real safari. "Cabela's African Safari" is not a real hunt simlutation, but neither is it a first-person shooter. Oddly, the game reminds me of the Nintendo classic "Duck Hunt", but with a little more variety.
The goal of the game is to have a full Safari – basically a career mode – in the time available to you. Each spot is really a stage inthe game, and you have to shoot a largely given way to your destination that could be "to achieve four Impala" (it almost always kill more animals in a hunt). Many other features of the game, how random or hunting trophy hunting of leopards Big Five – lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo – can not be opened until you have achieved in certain phases of your safari.
And here is the biggest drawback: Meetings are not random. Every time you hunt in an areaThe animals will be in the same place, so there is no replay value once you have completed the Safari mode.
There are also chasing birds, are in the need to shoot as many birds – from turtle doves to ducks – in a very short time, ie, "Duck Hunt".
Again, this is not a hunting sim. Instead of the hunter's eyes, the camera chases after him, like in Tomb Raider. The only other camera settings are on the shoulder of the hunter for the alignment (look at theCover get the idea) or a first-person view through a spotting scope. The encounters with animals are widely prescribed, and a radar on top of the screen shows you exactly where the animals are, even though they are shot for a higher degree of difficulty. Predators take you on sight attack, also Lone wild dogs, and a large part of the game is sneaking around them to get to your real prey. And what is frustrating in most function, each hunt is over. You may have to shoot three fifty-fiveAntelope, which detracts from the overall feeling of the hunt.
However, this is not a first-person shooter either. The animals can be taken with a single, well-placed shot, and you will be shooting for any animals other than the one you're hunting to be punished. The graphics are good for a bargain title, capturing the look of the savanna. The animal models in particular stand out, although the AI is pretty stupid – see progress survey expect lions head into the walls.
PeopleSearch for a real hunting experience will be disappointed, but I found the game a little fun diversion for a few nights, and it costs only $ 20 and came with a one-year free subscription to the magazine Field and Stream. Frankly, I would give it only 2 1 / 2 stars if I could. If you look at this as a fun arcade shooter, rather than a true simulation, you should like it. Too bad there is nothing more than that: A true safari hunting simulation would be a great game.
