Although it came installed with a clock and alarm, the main attraction of the games with the likes of Donkey Kong and Super Mario World was the first introduced.

The Atari Lynx was a major challenger to the Game Boy's crown and, after its publication in 1989, it was pretty obvious that its color screen and graphics were far superior and actually on a par with normal console systems of the time. The main pitfall was its price and its relatively bulky size and it never quite made the class at the end.

The Sega Game Gear was released in 1990 and was probably the largest rivals Game Boy, with a reasonablePrice, color display and playability great game, but unfortunately they could not compete with Nintendo's marketing assistants.

In fact, Nintendo easily dismissed the competition of many handheld gaming devices over the years, NEC and Neo-Geo to Bandai and Nokia.
