As a lifelong gamer, I have found that the fun factor in games, even ones that I adore, tends to reduce, at most two or three months. I bought this game out in the spring of 2008 on a whim and I'm still playing it so often now as I was then.

Why? Because you never play the same game twice. For example, if you could as Germany, either historical and invade Poland in September 1939, so that France, for later or take out the Frenchies, while in nap1938th Be the UK and do a U-boat campaign against Brazil if you want. Run the Red Army on the Suez Canal and Montgomery have Zhukov fight if that floats your boat. Or how to play some small South American country and him to a regional powerhouse. The point is that the possibilities are endless and this is just the vanilla version. A fanatical community on the Paradox forum has at least a dozen mods for this game, either tweaking produced various aspects of the game or full-onalternate history / fantasy modernization, so in all honesty, it is highly unlikely that this game ever old. Well, until they work all the kinks from Hearts of Iron 3, that is. Instant play, love it.

Best Strategy Game Ever – Scott Schickram – Irving, TX
This is my favorite strategy game. It covers all WW II (extensions, take it further, to 1963).
Complexity is "high" and the learning curve is steeper. However, there is no game like it.
You, the players, all aspects of building military units, the management of economic, intelligence and diplomacy. Land units are divisions, which will be updated, supplemented by specialized brigades and combined forces and armies. You assign the leaders, the individual assessments andSkills. They "learn", gained experience at different rates.
Marine units are individual ships or fleets. Air units are of different types.
Managing technology in different sectors is an important part of the game.
It is a robust online community with many fan-developed resources.
A sequel, Hearts of Iron 3 is scheduled for later this year.

The Best World War II Strategy Game Ever – Wilfred of Oxford –
Hearts of Iron is the best war strategy game I've ever played. This game fool to think of it, it is to update a basic Axis & Allies. In reality, this game is Axis & Allies look like it was a rough blueprint of this in depth game. This game not only control your units and try barbaricly take over the world. Instead, you control every aspect of your country, such as diplomacy, intelligence, and the Cabinet of the country's leader. Also yourProduction, supply, trade, technology and check if your country is a lobby, that the peace dove or a hawk war. Democratic or authoritarian. Nazism or social liberals, it is your choice. In Hearts of Iron to make history in almost every country in the world from the time in 1936 until the end of the game in 1963.

All a Armchair General could ever want – Joe – Kansas, USA
Do other strategy seems simple enough? Have you ever wished you had more freedom? Have you always wanted to conquer the world, not just on the battlefield? Now, Hearts of Iron II is the answer to your needs. But it is not for the meek, this game is seriously complex and massively steep learning curve. I play for two years and I still do not know the half of the magic happens behind the scenes. To play this you must go to be inspired by history, and have enough imaginationTo look at the lack of pretty 3D armies.
