I had high hopes for Samurai Shodown took Sen, when I picked it up it home, and ran it on my XBox360.

The overall presentation is smooth, if not a bit easier in most aspects. And surprisingly, the music adds the correct voltage and atmosphere for the phases, while the graphics load a little search-tions, and yet the character models and backgrounds … still decently sharp glance from these experiments. The character selection is nice and big, with several fightsStyles and personalities. A good handful of retro-decisions and a generous helping newcomers make this a remarkable Samurai Shodown interesting character in the lineup.

The great online features, but there is a community that draws the sad account of how well the game's mechanics and online functionality are balanced and coherent. A look behind the presentation, the gameplay is a move / combo-oriented style, like hardcore fighting games of the past. The combat system is a setFun: with various combo and counter-lists, beheadings and despair strikes to trade some of them even a few little tricks for dramatic effect (so it definitely has enough flexibility and requires practice to combat the system master).

The story mode does not offer much excitement, unfortunately, but makes a good way to kill time while waiting for the games online. A few of the plotlines are interesting, but the story is a real rough translation sometimes. This gameSurvival mode has, and quite difficult achievements, but plenty of gameplay hours if you enjoy the combat system and character selection.

With an online community, this would be a great pickup. Although it had only just a short time before this review, so that there will be perhaps time for a change.

Otherwise, have some friends in the game versus mode, and you have a recommended book for old-school Samurai Shodown fans.

Samurai Shodown Sen Overview

In the midst of chaos and upheaval, the Lord of Amori-han bravely chooses to raise an orphaned European princess as his own daughter. This brave young girl, Suzuhime, matures to become a warrior representing both East and West. The insidious Golba, a veteran of the U.S. Revolutionary War, ranks paramount among her foes, and a cadre of like-minded fighters flock to Japan to halt his dark plans for global domination. Familiar faces from past Samurai Shodown games (including Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Ukyo) battle alongside newcomers from all corners of the Earth to put an end to Golba’s villainous designs. Victory on this crucial conflict comes by any means necessary even if it means ending a melee with grisly dismemberment or decapitations. Samuari Shodown Sen a exclusive treat or something else? – David Kearney –
Just got the game last week!

Impressions – It's a decent fighting game. You have a nice roster of 24 characters (many familiar faces make their return, Sam Shodown) + 2 unlockables (big boss and boss before the Big Boss) and the usual variety of SNK (lol) battle modes.

Combat seems to be both good and bad. Just enough to get to everyone, and I do not see anything terrible with the exception of the second to last boss, who uses a gun (if all can use swords unbalancedOf course the drawback here), but that is typical SNK affordable fashion for you. It is bad in the sense it does not feel much like a Sam Shodown game and more of a Tekken / Soul Calibur Hybrid. The severe slash indicates a stupid amount of damage is not yet done at the same time leaves you wide open, I think quite fair. Also throw some reason the standard in the game, is exactly the same for each character in the game. This is not to say his throws Hanzo own unique, because he does, and they are pretty cool.

The single-player off – A story mode where you go to 7 everyday struggles, including your Big Boss, you will receive an explanation of what each character is by using text and a Japanese voice over for this text.

Practice (where your moves, the price of practice!)

VS (playing against the CPU or your lucky friend is sitting next to you, or maybe unlucky?)

Survival (Keep doing until you lose. I thinkTheres an achievement for beating 23 people or more without dying.)

Online is pretty simple. For some reason, theres a party chat option but I think the games are only fight 1v1 with no group (although I could be wrong, and more friends with the game need to test!). Theres Player Match and Ranked Match – and I see no way to select the stage background, since it appears to be accidental. In the match the player you can boss characters but not in Ranked Match.

The best partAbout online? Theres no lag, at least from the six matches I played. However, there are very few people play this game. I repeat – Theres no lag!

My bet? Now There is a 3D version of Sam Shodown, and not just 100% feel like the old 2D games. I think it's worth a slightly lower amount if you pay in the fight game, but not the full price, if you will it to be rare or really to think a love for SNK fighting games.

Overall so far – 2 out of 5 starsIt is at the current rate (3-star for fun). As soon as it drops a bit or if it released at $ 30 or $ 40 I might have been inclined to give it 3 stars on a general level. Pick it up if it is cheaper!

Compared to KOF12 This is still a better game thanks to the free online competition and a much larger delay roster, along with some more single-player options and an actual story for each character.
