V-22 Osprey Overview
Take control of this aircraft / helicopter for Flight Simulator 2004 and Flight Simulator X! The V-22 Osprey is a multi-mission, military tilt rotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to perform conventional helicopter missions with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft. Its unique and distinctive tilt-rotors is designed as a fast troop transport and field support aircraft with helicopter-like vertical lift but also with ability to operate as an STOL with rolling takeoff and landing. Following a vertical takeoff, its two engines can rotate 90 degrees for horizontal flight.
